The article presents the children’s book Max, sein Opa und Columba by Dr. Jörg Cuno and Esther-Anna Feldbaum. When someone we love is dying, children and adults alike face a difficult situation. The book offers possible answers for children dealing with farewell and grief.
Max loves his grandfather, who regularly picks him up from kindergarten. When the old man becomes seriously ill, everything changes and Max and his family must say goodbye. The story shows how the family copes and how a dove helps. Federal Health Minister Hermann Gröhe received a copy of the 48-page book and discussed the project with Jörg Cuno.
