Dear friends, colleagues and readers,
When we launched our new magazine in February of this year, we were entering new territory. It was difficult to estimate how much interest there would be in COLUMBA. All the more, we were overwhelmed by the strong response: within only a few days, most of the 5,000 printed copies had been ordered, and after barely four weeks the entire edition was out of stock.
That was a great joy for us, and it is also a mandate for this issue and for those to come: to prepare important and relevant topics from hospice and palliative work for you.
Once again, we have gathered conversations, background information and insights. Among other things, we spoke with Bundestag member Emmi Zeulner, report on a cardiologist’s discussion of palliative medicine, and examine the subject of voluntary stopping of eating and drinking.
Yours, Dr. Jörg Cuno
