The Björn Schulz Foundation, which has long worked for such families in Bavaria, leased the historic three-sided farm from the Benedictine convent of Frauenwörth.
The farm in Mitterndorf was extensively renovated in two construction phases and made accessible. Since summer 2011, one wing has been available to families; the renovation of the other wing had recently been almost completed, including larger rooms for children with very high care needs and their families.
During a visit to the Irmengard-Hof in Gstadt am Chiemsee, the Palliativ-Portal team presented a donation cheque from sales of its dove cushions and also donated some of the cushions. The team describes being deeply impressed by the work done there and notes that each cushion sale helps support such valuable institutions.
